Culture
Culture is a major impact of the dominant language ideology. In the classroom, students are held to standards to learn the dominant language. In America, students go to school and held to the standard for learning English. Some kids however when they go home are held to a different standard. There are families of Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and French decent. These students, or kids, go home and have to be able to speak the same language as their families. This cause mix-ups in the dominate language policy because these kids get confused and want to be able to allow their culture to show through in public.
