Dominant Language Ideology

Graphs
To the left is a graph that shows the percentage of the U.S. population who believe that "People can be Trusted" by highest level of educational attainment. Below is a graph that shows changes in real wage levels of full-time U.S. workers by gender and education. These two graphs show that Ideal Language Ideology pertains to levels of trustworthiness and pay figures are correlated with literacy. The greater the level of education for the worker, the more literate they will end up being. Thus they will be trusted more and paid more in the workforce.
