Social media is a major contributor against the Dominant Language Ideology. Social media slang has become a problem everywhere. People are beginning to forget when it is and is not appropriate to use such slangs. Phrases such as "ttyl," "lol," "haha," "u," and "wen" are getting used in professional emails. This is when companies have to start spending money on remedial training programs.
